Commercial Plumbing Superintendent

Salary: $50,000-90,000
The Foreman’s principal responsibility is to properly schedule the work of the crews, equipment, and subcontractors for multiple small to mid-sized projects at once to achieve maximum production in the most efficient manner.
Plumbing Foreman Responsibilities:

  • Properly layout a project, making certain that the proper dimensions are followed and the system is accurately located.
  • Attend pre-construction and construction meetings, taking notes on areas that may present a future problem to present them to the Field Operations Manager and Project Manager for consultation.
  • Keep the progress schedule current, review schedule status with Field Operations Manager and Project Manager at least once each month.
  • Ensure all change orders are properly executed and indicated on as-built plans.
  • Assist inspectors with their project reviews.
  • Maintain good relationships with inspectors, architects, subcontractors, and other key people connected with the project.
  • Maintain close communication with Field Operations Manager and Project Manager on any unforeseen problems which may develop.
  • Assist Project Manager in estimating percent completion of each item for monthly invoicing and of labor for each job cost report.
  • Assist the foremen of other companies with any problems.
  • Comply with all safety policies and regulations set in place by the company and OSHA. Hold NMI employees and subcontractor crews responsible for compliance. Safety meetings must be attended by all employees and documentation is to be turned into the office weekly.
  • Hire, train and manage employees
  • Maintain inventory control over tools and equipment, ascertaining that movable tools are returned to the tool room and all other equipment adequately secured.
  • Coordinate maintenance of heavy equipment on the project and supervise effective utilization.

Plumbing Foreman Qualifications:

  • An ability to thoroughly understand and follow plans and specifications in the construction of project.
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Thorough knowledge of construction techniques and the imagination to derive the most efficient method of completing a task.
  • A conscientious attitude towards controlling job costs and adhering to progress schedules.
  • Ability to use a transit and level to oversee all aspects of job layout and surveying.
  • Ability to communicate our plan and sequence of activities to all employees, subcontractors, and material suppliers for the effective implementation of our goals.
  • Must possess a valid Colorado Masters or Journeyman plumbing license.
